Poetry: The Lost Ones

we who hoped the light of day

would reach the edges of the sea

and left ourselves far wandering

across the ocean of despair

our armies are the pendulum

that severs god and reverie

that pierces veils of misery

wields the holy referendums

wrapped in frayed life strands repaired

that split by force of wondering

of what soul lost could reach the sea

and firmly grasp the heart of day
