you leap at low tide, hit the rocks

shatter into moonlight blue

your hopes and dreams are duly hued

the dawning tempest your death rues

and when the highest tides come morning

all the mourning masses sorting

through the cobalt shards of you

what will they find but bitter news—

such vanity your grace marooned
